About Me

I am Chaos. That isn’t my real name, its a alias that I go by. Sometimes you might see me as ChaosGoW (GoW stands for God Of War) and this is my website.

My gaming background is very varied. I started on an Amiga 1200 in the 80’s, but moved onto the popular consoles in the early 90’s like the Nintendo NES and Sega Master Systems. I would play games for hours on end when I got home for school. Going round to friends houses would usually involve us playing games most of the time too. When Windows 95 came out a few years later, my parents invested in our first PC. With that PC, I got to play games like Theme Park and Doom. There were some great games about then, most of them very original in design and gameplay. Saying that, the more time progresses, the more ideas get plucked from imaginationland and therefore, there are more original ideas to go around.

I later got bored of PC gaming. Mainly due to the fact games were cheap, but I couldn’t afford the hardware to run them on. PC gaming has always been expensive so consoles are an easy option for those with little cash to spare. So the Playstation was the console in my house. I played Gran Turismo for days on end. I even managed to finish all of the endurance races. Then the PS2 came out and I found myself with more money than at the Playstations first launch so I, for the first time, bought my very own Gaming PC.

No that’s not what I bought. It’s just there for illustrative purposes. It might as well have been though for all I cared. It cost me a bomb but it maxed out all the graphics settings on the latest games at the time.

I was big on single player back then but still played Unreal a lot. I cycled through the Unreal Tournament games pretty religiously up untill Unreal Tournament 3. I still play the third generation of the Unreal series but not seriously. 2004 was my personal favourite game for a long while. I played it for years non stop online and offline. The fact that the game has so many free mods, maps and other extras makes the game a steal at any price and is still the best in the series.

Team Fortress 2 is my current game of choice. I started playing the game regularly for over 2 years ago and I still find it as fresh as the day I started. There’s never 2 situations the same which is what gives the game such longevity. Out of the 9 classes available, I mainly play Soldier but sometimes try my hand at Demoman, Sniper and Spy. I’m not much better than your average player, I don’t claim to be, but I do enjoy the game and try hard to improve.
